Principal – Keely Power LISTD
I received professional training at the Hammond School of Dance before continuing my education at the London College of Dance. During my training at these vocational schools, I won awards for choreography and teaching skills.
I have performed in a number of shows including the Clothes Show ‘Live’, the Radio1 Roadshow, as well as more traditional productions such as the Nutcracker and Cinderella.
I am a fully qualified dance teacher with the ISTD. I hold my Licentiate in Imperial ballet, have a B.A. Honours degree in dance and my CDE (Certificate in Dance Education and Training) in five dance styles including ballet, modern, national & tap, from the ISTD (the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance). I attend courses regularly to keep my knowledge fresh and have recently trained as a PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) teacher and as an Acrobatic Arts.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I have successfully entered many students for exams as well as choreographing and producing many shows. My teaching experience has been in the local area, Birmingham and a dance studio in New York USA.
My passion is teaching dance and seeing my students enjoy the buzz of a dance class or performance. I get a real thrill from seeing a student work hard, improve and then achieve, whether it is in performance, exams or class
