Keely Power started PAD (Power Academy of Dance) in September 2003. The classes were small at first but soon grew bigger so the classes had to be spread to more days and more venues. We use the ISTD syllabus for our Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap classes, we also offer Jazz classes. Our classes are taught by qualified, enthusiastic and experienced teachers. We offer a discount for siblings and if you take more than 1 class a week. The students have performed productions at the Corn Exchange in Bedford, Bowen West Theatre in Bedford and at the Sharnbrook Mill theatre. We are always happy to perform and have taken part in Clapham Village Fun Day, Emmaus Village Music Festival and Oakley Carnival. We have also taken part in Bedford Councils Dance4All. The school has entered many students for exams with the ISTD over the years. Previous Students have gone on to study at the ‘London Studio Centre’ with a scholarship and ‘The Centre’ in London. We have students who have taken part in the English Youth Ballet production of Sleeping Beauty in Stevenage. Plus 3 students have successfully auditioned for Cambridge Youth Ballet and some attend the CAT (Centre of Advanced Training) schemes. I hope all students will flourish and the school continues to grow.
